With the establishment of the Film Foundation, led by Martin Scorsese and other prominent directors, the demand for film preservation and archival storage options soared. In 1995, the South Vault underwent a major expansion, adding 33% more vault space, introducing new unit types, and adding a secured off-street parking lot.
